| Having an option to list the computers name (or a unique identifier)when the lock option is in effect would be very handy. This would be particularly useful for stock-taking, error checking, connectivity cheking and for assigning students to a particular machine. |

Hello
Can you please elaborate on this, I'm not sure I understand what it is you are requesting.

As an example of what I mean, often I will lock all the computers in a room (using tutors lock feature). A person will come in and request to use one and I will have to unlock them all because I cannot individually identify the machine. If the lock screen listed a unique identifier, example '1' or perhaps the computer's network name, then a user could request that particular computer be unlocked. eg 'Can you unlock nos 7 for me?'
This feature could also help identifiy which machines are connected or not or could help with stocktaking because its name could be linked to a serial number in our inventory database. You could just hit lock and tick off the computers from glancing at the screen. |

Ok, I now understand. I think what we can do here is add a few special 'inserts' to the lock message sent to the remote clients.
E.g [ComputerName] will insert the actual computers name.
[Date] and [Time] ..... not sure I can think of any more that will be of use. Any suggestions?
So a lock message could be 'This computer is currently locked, please ask for [ComputerName] to be unlock' or something like that. |

| That would be a very useful feature, it's amazing how many staff in our school fail to notice the number of the computer when they tell us a computer has a problem. having the lock screen display the computer name would be a great way to reinforce this message! |

| Sorry for dredging up a very old topic, but this feature is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Did any inserts make it into V6? I'd love a patch or update to add a [ComputerName] insert. At the very least, will they be implemented in V7? |

| Yes, this went into version 6. The 2 inserts are [ComputerName] and [Date] where the date is in the format "Monday, January 11, 2011" |
