Since upgrading the Tutor and Client machines to the latest version 5 we have been having problems using the show screen command. Some computers seem to get the show correct, others have a ghosting effect where the same screen appears more than once on the client, this happens in more than one classroom since the upgrade. Is this a known bug and if so are there any fixes?
This is a bug that has been fixed in the latest v5.1.1.
It's to do with the client machines using different screen colour depths. If you check your machines that are showing poor screen colours, you will find they are running in a lower colour depth than 24 or 32bit.
You can either update to version 5.1.1 or increase the colour depth on these machines.
First try the 'Check for Updates' option under the 'Tools' menu, else you will need to download the latest version. Logon to the LMS and press the 'Download v5' button.
- de-install your old version 5 Tutor installation and re-install version 5.1.1
To Update the clients:
- Launch the new AB Tutor v5.1.1
- Connect to all old version 5 clients
- Select 'Tools' - 'Client Maintenance' and select 'Check for Older Client Programs'
- Press and hold the 'Ctrl' key and then select OK (this will force a remote update)
- Press the 'Update Now' button and wait for the remote machines to reconnect.
